Smart farming techniques are being implemented in Taiwan to help produce more efficiently and provide to more consumers. As the worlds largest producer of integrated circuits and a major producer of LED's and semiconductors, Taiwan's large industry impact has created a wave of agricultural startup businesses that encourage competition and innovation.
Taiwanese lawmakers have aimed at eliminating unsustainable waste and set regulation with the New Agricultural Innovation Promotion Plan in 2016. The plan aims to provide government investment into the agricultural industry and increase agricultural effectiveness for the modern economic system.
An example of technological innovation for agriculture is the use of drones in large scale production for pesticide spraying. The drones improve efficiency and cut labor costs immensely.
